First Presbyterian Community Projects
The Beacon in the Park event was organized by the First Presbyterian Church of Albany and consisted of a Juried Art Show & Community Arts Weekend, which promoted creativity, history, and community, all in the heart of Washington Park.
Beacon in the park
Our goal was to establish a logo lockup, resembling the First Presbyterian Church’s current logo, which features their beautiful Tiffany glass windows. With the base of the logomark secured, I proceeded to draw several different ray patterns. I then moved to the typography which consists of the typeface Buena Park and added custom flourishes to create a whimsical feel.
A Welcoming Place for All
In addition to the Beacon in the Park weekend, a capital campaign design to raise funds for the church was another task to consider. The goal of the campaign was to ensure the historic building remained accessible and available to everyone who relies on it and for generations to come.
The wordmark was constructed using the same typeface as Beacon in the Park, but without the logomark above. The capital campaign also used a separate color palette since it will be an ongoing program for the church.
Since the goal of the capital campaign was to gather funds for the church for improvement, we created an information booklet for the church community and donors. The booklet contained information on how much the church needed to sustain their improvement efforts and precisely where the funds would be allocated.
